Warren Blackwood Industrial Sites Study
The Study contains two distinct parts. Component 1 examines industry trends in the Region and potential sites. Thompson McRobert Edgeloe and ATA Environmental Consultants on behalf of the WA Planning Commission have prepared a draft report for Component 1 of the Study. Component 2 will be a detailed examination of the preferred site(s). The Warren Blackwood Region has traditionally produced forestry, agriculture and horticulture goods, which compete in local and export markets.
In assessing the potential locations for an industrial estate, consideration has been given to a number of factors including; land area, buffers, sustainability, transportation, workforce access and infrastructure. The convergence of infrastructure and transportation options along the South Western Highway has been recognised in the study.
The study has identified that Yornup, located between Bridgetown and Manjimup on the South Western Highway as having the greatest flexibility to accommodate a range of potential industries. |
