Remlap Ranch Resort, Myalup
The lake was formed by a cut to fill operation and is constructed below the existing high water table. This lake is the central feature of the tourist site and features landscaped islands maximising retention of remnant vegetation, together with extensive fringing vegetation plantings that are planned around the perimeter of the lake. These islands also provide valuable habitats for local and migratory bird life of the region. The lake incorporates careful design and control of stormwater runoff from the development to ensure that no nutrients or sediments are exported into the lake from the proposed development.
Effluent will be disposed of using ATU’s and a common effluent disposal area with amended soils. Fertilizer use on the adjacent landscaped areas will also aid in minimising nutrient loads to the lake. The estate also includes a unique dual water supply scheme with rainwater tanks to each residence providing potable water needs and a common bore providing non-potable requirements. |
