Bunbury Back Beach

The Back Beach of Bunbury experiences the full force of the Indian Ocean and severe erosion has been a problem in previous years.

Landcorp initially were involved in investigation of possible solutions and later the South West Development Commission took over the Project.

One solution proposed was the installation of strategic groynes along the coastline supplemented with sacrificial dunes between. Major landscaping was also to occur in conjunction with the works to bring a popular section of Bunbury coastline back into full use.

TME Director of Engineer was originally engaged by Landcorp to provide development cost estimates for the various options.

TME were also later engaged to undertake a full risk assessment and report on the project for the steering committee prior to full design and construction being undertaked by other parties.
