Australind Waters Subdivision

This special residential subdivision required careful attention in both the planning and construction phases to the retention of natural vegetation.

TME were the Planners and Project Managers for this development and TME Director of Engineering was design engineer for the initial stages of the development.

The design of the roads and their alignments were optimised in conjunction with the planners to enable the construction of many large islands within the road reserve to retain significant trees and also to calm traffic flows through the estate.

The islands were constructed larger than normal islands to ensure adequate retention of trees and the associated understorey vegetation.

Stormwater within the development was also captured and infiltrated at source in a series of soakwells, consistent with current Department of Water Guidelines.

The resulting subdivision is one which provides an urban lifestyle while still retaining the amenity of a natural bush environment.
